Ingredients
- Potatoes (4 medium-sized)
- Onion (1 medium-sized)
- Spring Onion (1 stalk)
- Cooking Oil (2 tablespoons)
- Minced Garlic (1 tablespoon)
- Soy Sauce (2 tablespoons)
- Red Pepper Paste (Gochujang, 1 tablespoon)
- Sugar (1 tablespoon)
- Water (1/4 cup)
- Sesame Oil (1 tablespoon, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces about 1.5cm in size.
2. Thinly slice the onion and chop the spring onion.
3. Coat a pan with cooking oil and sauté the minced garlic to release its fragrance.
4. Once the garlic is fragrant, add the potatoes to the pan and stir-fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Continue until the surface of the potatoes becomes slightly crispy.
5. Once the potatoes are slightly crispy, add the sliced onion and continue to stir-fry.
6. When the onion becomes translucent, add the soy sauce, red pepper paste, and sugar. Stir-fry until well combined.
7. Add water and let it simmer. Continue cooking until the potatoes are fully cooked. Allow the sauce to thicken and coat the potatoes.
8. Once the potatoes are cooked, add the chopped spring onion and stir-fry briefly to enhance the flavor.
9. Transfer the potato side dish to a serving dish and drizzle with sesame oil.
10. Serve the potato side dish with rice.
